Week Four . . . C'est la vie and Mable and Moneta

Image
In the final days of Me Made and, like near everyone else, I'm tired of the selfies.  So very tired.  I plug on though.  Surprisingly, I've made a considerable amount this month (see below), and . . . aside from being in a prolonged fight with the USPS and Girl Charlee over the location of my fabric and who is now responsible, I've had a good month on writing and sewing.  Need to get more writing done . . . but, my stress levels are calming down.  Perhaps because I have decided to take an hour and read a damned book everyday.  Perhaps.  Little things. Saturday: Another Archer . . . do not judge.  Archer number nine, this is.  I mean, look at that ribbon trim (with a hint of floral) and those glass buttons.  Oh yea, picking up a case of beer I lost a button.  Ha ha. RTW jeans, evil eye sandal from Bodrum, and the tiniest Coach I own.  Seriously, how is that even a purse? Sunday . . . Purple plaid thurlows...

Me Made May, roudup

Image
So I'm like a whole freaking week late on posting the final Me Made May roundup.  Well . . . I was in Kentucky on work, and I won't apologize for having a beer after work and usually being too tired to stay up past 10:30.  Yes, lame.  Yes, true.  Yes, there were an hour of student and work emails too . . . nearly every night. But, for your viewing pleasure: Wednesday, a day of browns. An Amy Butler Barcelona, my new boat shows, a now toooo large cardi, and my insomnia bag (AKA Multi Tasker Tote from Anna Maria Horner). Of course,  I was still in NYC here . . . It was chilly, hence the cardi.  Guess where the cardi is now? In the growing Goodwill bin. Thursday . . . the day to finish packing what wasn't done the day before, remember the tablet and Advil (the sunscreen for kids who go to summer camp for nerds), and try to sleep. {There's no photo as my phone shit the bed a day or so later, and . . . this one isn't on my Google+ backup (meanin...

Me Made May 2013: Week Three

Image
You're weekly round up for May . . . Saturday : Party at Erika and Bur's in CT, for which being a NYer and jaunting to CT for the weekend makes us sound very bourgeois. Cabo Halter in Amy Butler fabric with my wearable muslin Thurlows.  Yea, buddy.  On the real wear pair, this week, I'm going to down a size (these are cut on the 12) and I'll take off a 1/4 inch on the crotch.  Other than that, and shortening them (pre-cut) by three inches--I be short--they are a great pair of trousers.  I detest this cheap denim fabric, hence the use for a muslin, but it worked for what I wanted.  Though, I used a third generation zipper that has now broken . . . I tested, I love, I hate this fabric.  Job done.  I'm up in the air if I'll fix the zipper to wear them a couple of times and send to Goodwill. hmmm. Check that out: someone else's kitchen!  And, a friend took this.  Mr. Fairytale got the night off of photo shooting. Sunday ,...

Me Made May: Week Two

Image
It's week two of Me Made May . . . are you tired of seeing my mug yet? Day One, Monday (since I left off with Sunday, a hungover day post Derby madness). That's the Colette Sorbetto, altered.  I inverted the pleat, sewed it two inches, and did the rest the same.  That shirt is the skirt I hacked up . . . I mentioned that about three posts ago, I think.  I love the shirt; Mr. Fairytale seems to heart it too.  The shirt is a total win.  The skirt, well it gave me that shirt.  Jeans: Express.   Day Two, Tuesday (also known as the last day of class for the semester).  I posted this one on Instagram and Facebook, and from the reaction .  . .well, I love the dress too.  I have another one with purple polka dots (sorta).  It's The Staple Dress, by April Rhodes, in Anna Maria Horner fabric.  On this one you can see I did a bit of shearing at the waist (just enough, three rows).  My other version only has on...
