A Flowery Anna and Some Rambles

Image
I believe it was last summer that By Hand London caught my eye . . . maybe last spring.  What I do know is that the Anna came out last summer, and in BHL fashion it did not disappoint.  As much as I love my Charlotte's (which more will be made next fall, after  hopefully long and gloriously hot summer some wool will come out for a smaller grey and one in black . . . yes, my grey one will be on ESTY in about three weeks as after this winter with weight dilemmas and body image galore it's too loose in the waist--if you can believe that!), I might love this bad boy more  . . .Well, the dress not the color.  Anyway . . .  I actually made her Easter Weekend, took less than an afternoon.  I see her as a quickish make, with some nice potential to alter her look.  ;) Pattern calls for one slit, which you will want on the long version . . . I went all ballsy and did two.  FYI, for folks of a normal height the slits are...

Passport Stamps on my Minoru

Image
We already know life has kicked me more than once lately . . .But, in short, I made my Minoru before I left for Ecuador. And, to my chagrin, I'm finally  getting it on here.  Good grief!  But, before the gushing of my favorite coat--that I've gotten compliments from my Momma and across the globe about, the first two days of Me Made need a super quick round up.   Day One Some quasi shameful RTW running capris, a Deer and Doe (actually my muslin Plantain ), a do rag with scraps from a bag I made and wore out, and you can't see them but knickers.  I graded at home, all day, so this was spiffy.  I did blather, for a moment, the last entry here about knickers.  Day Two My one hour convert (a pair of jeans into a skirt) and a renfrew.  The Renfrew is a perfect wear to lounge, and here I just got back from a long overdue massage and mani/pedi.  Hence, she's a little stretched.  And now . . . onto my coat. I had pl...

A Negroni and Handmades

Image
Well, as most of the world knows (even if they don't celebrate it) Christmas just came and went . . . and in the western sense I celebrate it with gifts.  Of course, since I am American scores expect me to celebrate it in terms of mounds of cheap crap bought from local chain stores or procured via the internet and home delivery.  Yea, well . . . that didn't happen.  Just as I was (and am) serious about not buying clothes (bras, knickers, sock, and jeans are the exceptions . . . with my jeans now coming from a local maker when I purchase my next pair sometime in 2014--I bought two pair this year (from Turkey)) I am serious about the handmade gifts.  I am long done trying to shop for people.  For the few people I gift, they all know . . . orders and requests are permitted.  And trust me, the people who get handmade are pretty slim in number.  Why? I only gift people who matter and who will appreciate it.  Also, handmade . . . well, a shockingly larg...
