Me Made May 2013: Week Three

You're weekly round up for May . . .

Saturday: Party at Erika and Bur's in CT, for which being a NYer and jaunting to CT for the weekend makes us sound very bourgeois.

Cabo Halter in Amy Butler fabric with my wearable muslin Thurlows.  Yea, buddy.  On the real wear pair, this week, I'm going to down a size (these are cut on the 12) and I'll take off a 1/4 inch on the crotch.  Other than that, and shortening them (pre-cut) by three inches--I be short--they are a great pair of trousers.  I detest this cheap denim fabric, hence the use for a muslin, but it worked for what I wanted.  Though, I used a third generation zipper that has now broken . . . I tested, I love, I hate this fabric.  Job done.  I'm up in the air if I'll fix the zipper to wear them a couple of times and send to Goodwill. hmmm. Check that out: someone else's kitchen!  And, a friend took this.  Mr. Fairytale got the night off of photo shooting.

Sunday, there was a drive home  . . .

Sorbetto, Express Jeans, Stella&Dot scarf, and in the corner my Me Made luggage. Indeed.  I'd been lusting after that scarf since January.  I can buy the occasional scarf.  No clothes though.

Check that out, I don't look like hell in one shot.  I tried to jazz it up and change the background.  My hallway, walls filled with art.  Those are my half marathon medals hanging by the door.  Thank you very much.

Monster dog with me while I was knitting . . . yes, me made sleep pants in Amy Butler fabric.

Monday, just another funday . . .

Renfrew, Express jeans, leather belt I bought in 1998 from Target (yes, 1998!), Me Made do rag (look close, scraps from my now deader than a door nail Cosmo bag from December 2011 or so).  Tanfer has a do rag like this too.  Well, she gets it in July.  Now, it is in a drawer waiting with a few other things for her.

Mr. Fairytale is soooooo tired of the daily photo shoot.

Tuesday, the beginning of the end of my sanity.

Express Jeans, a Sorbetto . . . like my tiny home office? That's batting, for a baby quilt (NOT ME), behind me and my recent half marathon blanket on the chair.   I gets cold in there sometimes.   And, yes the printer is wireless.  Hence, why it is behind me.  Mr. Fairytale even says he went a little too green on the Leap Frog green walls (actual name of the color).  I have until July to do that to finish that quilt . . . top is done, just need to make myself quilt it.  Don't look too close, there is a bit of Lupus rash.  C'est la vie.

You have a bonus of my sleep pants, since I double wore . . . I'm not a total cheat.  That's ribbon, on clearance, I used on the trim and for the drawstring.  Picked it up for a quarter a roll about three years ago when I was helping a friend mad plan her wedding.  And an accidental boob shot.

Wednesday.

I opted to grade, scream, write, index a book, scream some more, walk the dog, grade, answer a gazillion emails, grade, grade . . . yea, all that in running pants.  My do rag is me made, I love it.  Made my Momma one like it, all from scraps, and she hearts it too.  My purple Stony Brook hoodie didn't fit in December (the arms were too tight), now it is comfy, not too loose, and booyea.

Self shot, as Mr. Fairytale hates this game, and his kept coming out sucky that night.

And because I only gave you the do rag (hey, I'm building the Me Made into a full wardrobe) here's one of my favorite pajama pants.  All are from the Amy Butler pattern in her _In Stitches_ book.  I used some scrap, from another pair to make the accent on the bottom, and I made the drawstring instead of using my standard ribbon.  Joel Dewberry fabric, in case you want to copy cat.  ;)  Yes, I wore them to bed.  Yes, I wear a different pair every night.

Thursday.

I blogged about this pattern yesterday, as I finally got around to it.  Made these up a couple of months back.  I heart them.  Though, in retrospect, I should have worn this dress on Tuesday as I had a meeting that day.  But oh well.  I'm an underpaid academic, so it all works out . . . kind of.

The Staple Dress in an Anna Maria Horner print.  Birks here, I actually wore platform sandals all day.

Friday, also known as the day final grades are tallied, insanity, and I'm near my breaking point.

Renfrew (I really love these, need more knits!), Amy Butler Barcelona in her fabric (I've made this pattern a gazillion times over the years, and I made this one a large, fits so nicely--smallest size yet, usually I added inches (to the XL--so embarrassing )), Stony Brook flip flops, and Ripple my monster dog.  Yes, I graded from home looking fairly work friendly today.  Why? I felt like it.  And, you almost have a butt shot.  Closest your gonna get.  The light is bouncing off my arm, making it all funky in shape and the Lupus rash isn't helping . . . Go look on Instagram, for the "cool version," as in I filtered part of that out.

And there you have week three.  Well, tomorrow is gonna be a double day as we HAVE to go the Farmer's Market, as there is NOTHING in the fridge except spoiled salsa I made two weeks ago, Mr. Fairytale's leftover pizza slice (it's pepperoni: pork plus red pepper would kill me, seriously), a piece of left over fried chicken (my lord, we ate like crap this week), some questionable yogurt, some even more questionable mushrooms, and something in a plastic container that I'm not even going to open.  Yup.  I've been busy.  So, Farmer's Market and then it is our anniversary.  Tonight, upon breaks from grading and indexing, I'll finish the hand-stitching on the dress I made for the occasion.  I promise, I'll give you that blog next week . . . the dress is a fabric hog I tell ya!  The fabric is a silk/broadcloth mix.  So pretty.

And, as I said last week, I need more Renfrews.  But, on que for Monday is a pair of Thurlows with half-naked cowboys for the pockets and waistband lining.  I rock, I know.  And . . . I bought this kit (judge the purchase of a kit later, and it came in today!).  So, the Kelly skirt is next week too!  I need to line the linen, but I think I have some muslin to do that.

Off to the races, as usual.
