Week Four

Another week . . . another round up.

Day 19

My iPhone has a timer, I've got lots of bookshelves . . . enter the handsfree selfie.

'Tis my linen Kelly from last May, a RTW tee that is about a year old now, and a Micheal Kors belt.  My name necklace, in Egyptian, and a Otlu pendant from my friend Linda.
Yes, my home office is that tiny.

Day 20

So, yea . . . selfies are a bitch.  Seriously, how do those tweens do it?

And, yes, my dears .  . .Cousin It came to town via my 90s afro hair.

A whisken tank from last summer, and in the course of scouring my closet on this surprisingly warm day . . . I need summer shirts, yo.  So much so that two sleeveless Archers are sitting on the table to cut, cut and sew, sew.  Tomorrow I see a plan.

On other notes, is that light between my thighs? Hot damn.  That ain't happened in years.  What? Women across the universe know this feeling.  Thighs are always a point of contention, and it is always nice to see visual results--in an unexpected manner--that you really are toning up.

Bernie the Bernina and I got down with some polka dots.  And unicorns . . . sometimes it's all ya got.  Ya'll will see it on next week.  ;)  What? Yea, the real story is I need warm weather clothes.

I have no self control when I see scraps lying about and know one of my dearest friends is about to be a papa.  Much like in the bookstore I bought this little future tricycle motor three books . . . no self control.

Day 21

Amy Butler Lounge Pants, from the In Stiches book, that's my quilt (dubbed the Amy Butler quilt, as it is all scraps of her fabric lines) at my feet, and look close . . . I refinished that hutch about a year and a half ago.

Eh, I lounged in bed reading, emailing, reading, grading, and reading some more until one.  Then I moved to the computer.  It was a nice and loungey day.

Day 22

An infinity scarf.  What can I say . . . I've been working on a pile of To Dos, summer classes, and  . . . well, there was one particularly vile and abusive email this week.  No, I'm not talking about it.  I'll get over it . . . and no it wasn't from a boss.  C'est la vie.

Oh wait, I wore some more Me Made PJs.

Lakeside PJs, I made last August or so.  I really do love them.  I have another pair on the cutting table que now.

Day 23

A Sol, a Do . . . book edits baby.  Book edits.  It's also a rainy, grey bumfest today.

And the Bonus this week, since there's always one:

The Gabriola, or as I call her My new BFF in skirts.

Ya'll saw most of these for a Me Made daily and round-up, but here's the in-takes of the shoots that day.  Showing the full swoosh and love of this bad boy.  Muttly was licking in preparation, as she was promised chicken sticks for posing with me.  What she won't do for a treat.

So about this simple beauty . . . I shortened her like seven inches because, as we know, I'm not exactly tall.  Other than that . . . she's a straight and simple make.  Though, make sure you mark the edges of the panel pieces.  I inverted two of them and had to re-stitch, after I'd serged of course, to make them fit.

The zipper is a basic lapped one, and after all those pencil skirts this fall and winter I can pretty much do those in my sleep.

I think it took me about three hours to  make, including the bonding with my stitch ripper.  Oh, wait . . . I took the waist in my moving the snap.  On that same note, I think I need to relook at measurements.  My linen Kelly fit looser at the waist this time, as when I made it she was sung as all get out.  And this skirt . . . I think I might go down a size, gasp, next time.  She is a little loose but nothing terribly noticeable.

It just flows so well.  And, if ya haven't noticed, I am rather fond of it.  A friend asked me to come fabric shopping with her on Wednesday, as she's looking to make a bag and doesn't know the weights of fabric that well, and odds are I'll pick up another rayon to make number two of this one.  I see this getting worn to threads this summer with a wife beater.

On that note, I have book edits to finish.  I need to get this manuscript in for first round review before I leave for The College Board's week in L-ville . . . so back I go.
